VTC Athletes Help with Special Olympics

Randolph Center, VT -On Monday, April 15th several Vermont Tech athletes lent their sporting expertise to help the members of the Randolph Special Olympics properly prepare for their upcoming basketball tournament.

Alex Tyrrell, Ama Baker, Josh Lindsey, Kelly Vellek, Nick Martiros and Tim Schein, all members of Vermont Tech's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), took time out of their busy schedules to aid in running basketball practice for the Special Olympics. The practice was hosted at the VTC SHAPE Complex, and included both team and individual drills.

Special Olympics Vermont Spring Sports is a basketball tournament in disguise. This is a fierce weekend competition that takes place at the University of Vermont's Patrick Gymnasium. The event includes traditional Special Olympics competition as well as Unified Sports® team basketball.
