Honors & Awards - USCAA Honors
Newport News, VA- USCAA seeding committees have finalized the seeding for the 2009 USCAA Basketball National Championships. The tournament begins on Tuesday, March 3 with a skills competition at 3:15pm followed by the tournament banquet, aboard the Gateway Clipper at 7:30pm. The Clipper will tour Pittsburgh's three rivers as participants will enjoy food, music, a guest speaker, and awards presentation. Games will begin on Wednesday, March 4.
The 2009 National Championships markt he first time in USCAA history that all three basketball championships have been hosted concurrently at the same location. This year's tournament is hosted by Penn State Fayette and Penn State Greater Allegheny in conjunction with the western division of the Penn State University Athletic Conference. 02.10.09 YSCC National Player of the Week
Newport News, VA.- The USCAA wants to congratulate and celebrate its student athletes' accomplishments. We are proud to announce the following Players of the Week for the week of February 2nd-8th.
Men's Basketball Division II
Player of the week- Sean Smith, Vermont Tech, F, Fr., Temple Hills, MD- Smith propelled his team to three victories in as many games. The Freshman posted a double-double against Paul Smith's. He netted 29 points and grabbed 10 boards. The Green Knight's forward poured in 27 points and hauled in 7 rebounds against SUNY/Canton. In the final game of the week Smith scored 30 points and dished out eight assists against USCAA opponent, Eastern Maine.
