CONCORD, N.H. – The NHTI Lynx erased an eight point halftime deficit to outlast the Northern Essex Knights, 95-93 Friday evening to pick up their second win of the season.
The Lynx Deric Jackson (Salisbury, N.H.) scored 23 of his game high 27 points in the second frame. Sophomore J'Quay Thurmond (Monticello, Ga.) added 19 points and 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Sam Dorissaint (Stamford, Conn.)
NHTI took their reclaimed the lead on a jumper by Jackson with seven minutes remaining. NECC pulled within two points after Evan Hardy drained a three pointer with 19 seconds remaining but could contain Jackson who was fouled on a layup attempt and converted both free throws bringing the Lynx to a four point lead.
The Lynx improve to 2-0 on the season and will host Williamson on Saturday and Quincy College on Sunday.
