Week 2 YSCC Baseball and Softball awards announced

YSCC/SMCC -- SMCC Seawolves Kaylah Abdul and Amos Herrin were YSCC Softball and Baseball Players of the Week.

Abdul, of the softball team, led the Lady SeaWolves to a 5-1 record last week with wins over Massasoit Community College, New Hampshire Technical Institute, and Dean College. Abdul hit .500 (12-24) in six games from the four-hole. The shortstop continues to lead the Yankee Small College Conference in batting average, home runs, and RBI's. Eight of her 12 hits were for extra bases, featuring her third and fourth home runs of the season.

On the baseball side, Herrin not only hit the ball well this week he is the anchor of SMCC's defense and made outstanding plays against NHTI, according to the SID.
