2012-13 Players of the Week

February 11, 2013

Ama Baker, Vermont Tech

(Junior, Guard- Fitchburg, MA)
In three games this week, Ama averaged 18.67ppg, 5.67 rpg, 5.33 apg and 2.3 spg. This included a 26 point outburst at St. Joe's (VT), where along with her 6 assists she directly contributed on 41 of the team's final 63 points. In addition, Ama shot 86% from the free throw line, going 18/21 overall, including 9/9 at CSJ and 4/4 against UMPI.

Susie French, Central Maine CC

(Sophomore, Guard- Greenland, NH)
French help the Mustangs clinch the YSCC East #1 seed with her outstanding play.  In three games she averaged 25.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 5.3 steals and 5.1 assists.

Kara Hebert, Eastern Maine CC

(Sophomore, Guard- Embden, ME)
In a three game stretch, Hebert averaged 13.3 points/game including a double-double against Hampshire College with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

 

January 21, 2013

Allura LeBlanc, NHTI

(Freshman, Forward- Northwood, NH)
LeBlanc helped the Lynx defeat YSCC rival Southern Maine CC.  She turned in her best performance of her collegiate career with a double-double - 30 points and 13 rebounds.  She also added 5 assists and blocked 4 shots.  NHTI is now 11-4 on the season.

Kelly Vellek, Vermont Tech

(Senior, Guard- Burlington, VT)
Vallek has helped lead the Green Knights throughout the season and in the game last week she scored her 1000th point for Vermont Tech.  Kelly is only the seconds player to reach this milestone at Vermont Tech. She and the Green Knights are now 6-4 this season and in second place in the YSCC West Division.

Maggie Sabine, Central Maine CC

(Sophomore, Forward- Litchfield, ME)
In three games last week against teams ranked in the top 10 of the USCAA Coaches Poll, Sabine averaged a double-double with 18 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.  She also added an average of 3.3 assists and 4.7 steals in the same stretch.  Sabine has  helped extend the Mustangs win streak to 5 games and an overall record of 9-2.

Kelly Vellek, Vermont Tech

(Senior, Guard- Burlington, VT)
In leading the Knights to a win over Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, NY, Vellek tied her career high with 33 points.  She was 50% from both the field and behind the arc, going 13-26 and 7-14 respectively. She also had 5 assists and and 3 steals.  The Knights are now 6-0 on the season.

Susie French, Central Maine CC

(Sophomore, Forward- Greenland, NH)
In two wins this week, French averaged 27 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5 steals and 3.5 assists.  She shot 55% from the floor and 80% from the free throw line.  She has helped lead CMCC to a 3rd place ranking in the USCAA Coaches Poll.

Arreonte Lee, Umaine Augusta

(Freshman, Guard- San Antonio, TX)
Lee had a great week for the Moose.  She averaged a double-double in 3 games with 16.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.  She also added 3 assists and and 4 steals per game to her teams efforts.

Rogetta Donalson, Southern Maine CC

(Freshman, Guard- Hyannis, MA)
Donalson lead the Seawolves to a 2-1 week with wins over Naval Academy Prep and conference opponent Unity College. She shot 50% from the floor including 44% from behind the 3-point arc.  She averaged 15.6 point, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists and 3 steals per game.
