Coach Paul Hogan Celebrates 500th Career Coaching Win

Concord, NH:  With the 92-80 win over Vermont Technical College on Wednesday night at NHTI, veteran NHTI head coach Paul Hogan won his 500th career college game as a head coach.

Hogan is halfway through his 15th season at NHTI with the Lynx off to a fine 15-4 start and currently a # 5 ranking in the USCAA national poll. The Lynx feature a deep lineup that averages 97 points per game thus far.

In 2005, NHTI captured the USCAA national D-2 championship defeating Golden St Baptist (California). NHTI men’s basketball teams have been to the USCAA championships many years during Hogan’s tenure including national runner-ups in 2002 and four separate times the Lynx have been ranked # 1 in the USCAA coach poll for multiple weeks during the season.

A New Hampshire native, Hogan served as the head coach at Plymouth State University leading the Panthers to their first ever NCAA tournament berth and numerous ECAC tournaments. Hogan was inducted for the PSU Hall of Fame in 2007.

Hogan has been named Little East Coach of the Year in 1991 and 1998 along with USCAA Coach of the Year in 2002, USCAA Athletic Director of the Year in 2013, YSCC Coach of the Year in 2010, 2013 and the Walter Smith Coaching Award in 2010.

NHTI will host a special pregame ceremony on Tuesday, January 27 prior to the College of St. Joseph’s men’s basketball game at 8 pm.
