15 basketball players receive All-American recognition
UNIONTOWN, Pa. - Fifteen student-athletes from the Yankee Small College conference received USCAA All-American honors as announced at the annual championship banquet held at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.
On the men’s side, three players were named to the USCAA Division II First Team which includes 10 total players from across the country. YSCC Player of the Year Brandon Rogers of the University of Maine at Augusta and Carrington Miller from Central Maine Community College were joined by Unity’s Eddie Kopacz on the first team.
Second-Team All-Americans included Keith Chesley of UMA, Ben Teer of the University of Maine at Machias and Kareem Brown of St. Joseph’s (Vermont). Four players were named Honorable Mention All-American with Jorge Milo of the University of Maine at Machias, Jordan DeRosby of Southern Maine Community College, Antonio Gordon of St. Joseph’s, and Rob Skinner from CMCC.
On the women’s side Jamie Plummer of the University of Maine at Augusta and YSCC Player of the Year Regina Steele were named to the USCAA Division II First Team.
On the second team there were three student-athletes from the conference with St. Joseph’s Arreonte Anderson, UMA’s Darby Toth, Central Maine Community College’s Alex Rowe and Southern Maine Community College’s Alicia Hoyt.
UMA’s Caitlin LaFountain was named Honorable Mention All-American.
