YSCC Players of the Week - Winter Week 8
Here are the Yankee Small College Conference Players of the Week for week eight of the winter season.
Women's Basketball - Hunter Hartsgrove (CMCC)
First-year guard Hunter Hartsgrove delivered a historic performance for Central Maine CC, leading the Mustangs to three wins in three days on a YSCC road trip. The Patten, Maine native erupted for a career-high 42 points against Word of Life, knocking down 15 three-pointers to break an 18-year-old program record for most threes in a game. Hartsgrove followed that performance with 15 points against ACPHS and 12 points vs VTSU-Randolph, averaging 24.0 points per game while shooting 50.0% from the field and 51.2% from beyond the arc.
Men's Basketball - Khalif Bettis (UMA)
Junior forward Khalif Bettis turned in a strong two-game stretch for UMaine-Augusta, delivering back-to-back double-doubles in road wins. Bettis posted 17 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists at Paul Smith's before following with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists against Word of Life.
