Hill scores 29 as Mustangs take championship

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Tournament MVP Shaun Hill scored 29 points Sunday afternoon, leading number one seed Central Maine Community College to a 90-69 win over sixth seeded Saint Joseph’s College of Vermont in the Yankee Small College conference championship game.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Central Maine Community College survived a tough challenge from the University of Maine Machias Saturday afternoon, holding on for the 102-95 win to advance to the Yankee Small College Conference Championship game Sunday afternoon.

Saint Joseph’s College upsets SMCC; moves on to championship

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine –Saint Joseph College played a dominant first half Saturday night, and held on in the second half, as the sixth seeded Fighting Saints upset second seeded Southern Maine Community 79-65. St. Joe’s advances to take on the number one seeded Central Maine Community College Mustangs Sunday afternoon at 3:00.

Susie French and Luis Medina were named Yankee Small College Conferece Players of the Year.
CMCC sweeps player of the year honors

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Central Maine Community College swept Friday afternoon’s Player of the Year honors at the annual Yankee Small College Conference Elite Eight Basketball Banquet. Junior Luis Medina (Hartford, Conn.) and sophomore Susie French (Greenland, NH) each received the league’s highest honor.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Regular season champions Central Maine Community College survived a tough challenge by Vermont Tech College Friday night, walking away with the 93-77 win to move on to the Yankee Small College Conference Elite Eight Final Four Saturday at Southern Maine Community College.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The Southern Maine Community College men’s basketball team dished out 23 assists and scored 32 points off of turnovers on its way to a 89-71 win over seventh seeded University of Maine at Augusta. Eleven different players lit up the score board, giving head coach Matt Richard’s squad 33 points off the bench.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Dre Anderson scored 33 points and shot 13 for 16 from the floor as Saint Joseph’s College of Vermont cruised past NHTI 96-59 to move on the Yankee Small College Conference Elite Eight Tournament Final Four.
