Men's and Women's Basketball Ready for YSCC Tournament

The 2026 Yankee Small College Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments head to Auburn, ME on Friday, beginning with men's quarterfinals action. The tournaments, hosted by Central Maine Community College and played at Dave Gonyea Court inside Kirk Hall, feature eight total games over three days.

On the women's side, #1 ranked CMCC enters as tournament favorites, looking to capture its ninth straight conference title. The #4 seeded Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Panthers will look to pull the upset in the semis after defeating #5 Word of Life in the quarterfinals. UMaine-Augusta takes on Southern Maine in the second semifinal after the #3 Seawolves rolled past #6 Great Bay in their first game of the tournament. The Moose enter the playoffs as the only team to defeat Central Maine this season.

In men's action, defending champion Great Bay comes in as #6 seed looking to pull the upset over #3 seed VTSU-Randolph in a rematch of last year's title game. The winner moves on to face #2 UMaine-Augusta in the semifinals, taking on a Moose team looking for its first conference crown. Six-time champion Southern Maine plays #5 seed Paul Smith's College in the other quarterfinal on Friday. The winner goes up against #1 Central Maine. The Mustangs hope that the Lunar New Year will bring them some luck. The last time the men's team won the tournament was 12 years ago, the last time it was the year of the horse.

Fans have multiple ways to enjoy the action. In-person admission for each day costs $12 for adults and $7 for students and seniors, with concessions available on site. Fans can also tune in to watch the pay-per-view, live-streaming broadcasts of each contest on https://ysccsportsnetwork.com. Each game is available for $6.99 online.
