Cobleskill, N.Y. – September 18, 2025 – The Word of Life Huskies men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw on the road against SUNY Cobleskill on Thursday afternoon at the Soccer Complex.
Sophomore goalkeeper Raphael Cournoyer anchored the Huskies' defensive effort, recording seven saves to secure his first shutout of the season. Cournoyer made two stops in the first half and added five more after the break as Cobleskill applied consistent pressure, outshooting Word of Life 23-2.
Despite being outshot, the Huskies' back line held firm. George Rohrbaugh registered the team's lone shot on goal, while Austin Hartwell also added an attempt. Word of Life demonstrated discipline on defense, committing just five fouls, although Samuel Morozov was shown a yellow card late in the 89th minute.
Cobleskill held a 21-2 edge in corner kicks but was unable to break through against the resilient Huskies' defense. The hosts split time between two goalkeepers, each combining for one save to preserve the scoreless draw.
With the result, Word of Life moves to 0-1-3 on the season. Cobleskill shifts to 2-4-2.
The Huskies will return to action on Thursday, September 27, when they go on the road against Central Maine Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
