Crazy 8s: Seawolves Blank Moose On The Road

AUGUSTA, MAINE – The Seawolves' offense was firing on all cylinders Saturday afternoon as the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team rolled to an 8-0 road conference win over the University of Maine at Augusta.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

SMCC broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, and from there, the scoring momentum never slowed.

Junior captain Tim Eulenberger (Iffezheim, Germany) opened the scoring, converting a setup from senior Louis Sehr (Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire) to make it 1-0. Just three minutes later, Jaxon Olsen (Gardiner, Maine) added to the tally, finishing a clean feed from Eulenberger for a 2-0 advantage heading into the break.

The second half began in the same rhythm. In the 51st minute, Sehr flipped roles, scoring one of his own off an assist from Olsen. Eulenberger then bagged his second goal in the 62nd minute, this time off a well-placed pass from Jil-Emmanuel Sehr (Loganville, Georgia), putting the match at 4-0.

Olsen struck again just three minutes later with an unassisted goal to stretch the lead to five. Then, Luke Gorczok (Orrington, Maine) got on the board in the 68th minute, finding the net unassisted for his first collegiate goal.

Freshman Ibrahim Alzirkani added a late brace, scoring in the 79th and 89th minutes. His first came off a pinpoint assist from Brendan Saladino (Gorham, N.H.), while the second was a solo effort that capped the performance.

SMCC finished the match with 26 shots on goal, converting eight and spreading five assists.

BETWEEN THE POSTS:

Ethan Homa (Westbrook, Maine) and Adao Lufumbu (Portland, Maine) shared goalkeeping duties, with each playing 45 minutes to combine for a clean sheet. Neither was tested with a shot on goal in the match.
